Code 3 Associates is dedicated to providing professional animal disaster response and resources to communities, as well as providing professional training to individuals and agencies involved in animal related law enforcement and emergency response. Our mission is accomplished through hands-on animal rescue and care operations during disaster events; and through our certified animal welfare training seminars which include animal cruelty training for investigators.

Code 3's ACO Coalition

If you haven't heard, we have a new program that rolled out earlier this year. The Code 3 ACO Coalition provides training, support and resources to Animal Control Officers from around the Nation.

We do this by providing grant opportunities for face masks & body armor, networking, offering training opportunities, assisting in building internal programs, and helping to build disaster plans and resources.

Membership to the coalition is FREE, so really there is no drawback to sign up. We encourage you, your teammates & colleagues to register for Code 3's ACO Coalition. To learn more, click here.

Since 1983 New Jersey Animal Control Officers have requested from the State organized and structured training. In fact it was insisted that this training be offered in NJ approved universities and police academies.

The basic Animal Control Officer certification course is offered throughout the year by Career Development Institute, (CDI). Some colleges offer this course during either their Fall or Spring semesters. This course is required to be a minimum of 45 hours and once completed, it is equivalent to 3-college credits. This course is usually given one day a week for 15 weeks.

Career Development Institute (CDI) is the only state-approved institution that offers the Animal Cruelty Investigator NJ certification course.
